The 4th International Conference on Sensing, Measurement and Data Analysis in the Age of Artificial Intelligence was successfully held from November 2 to November 4 at Ramada Xi'an Changzheng Hotel. The conference belongs to the IEEE series of high-level academic conferences with international influence, which is hosted by the School of Electromechanical Engineering of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, and co-organized by the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University and the IEEE Instrumentation and Testing Society.
The conference invited first-class scholars from Canada, Japan and other countries as well as China. A total of 166 submissions were received, 117 were selected by the organizing committee as oral presentations and 40 were presented as posters.
Prof. Zhao, Chairperson of the conference, School of Electromechanical Engineering, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, presided over the opening ceremony. She delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the organizing committee and introduced the history of this conference series. Prof. Huang, Dean of the School of Electromechanical Engineering, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology (XUET), the conference chairman, and Prof. Zheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the conference advisor, delivered speeches in succession, in which they warmly welcomed the domestic and foreign experts and scholars who have come to this conference, and at the same time, wished that all the scholars and students could gain wisdom and inspiration from the exchanges in this conference.
In the conference report session, Prof. Zheng, an academician of the National Academy of Sciences, made a speech with the titles of "Artificial brain-vision computer for creating seamless interactive applications between real and virtual worlds", "AI-enabled PHM Solution for Complex Systems", "How to Write a Scientific Paper" as the theme, and shared the wonderful academic achievements in the fields of sensing, measurement and data analysis in the era of artificial intelligence.
The oral presentations were divided into 20 sub-forums, and participants from many countries presented their research results. The organizing committee selected 3 Outstanding Paper Awards, 3 Outstanding Student Paper Awards and 1 Outstanding Sub-forum Award based on the overall performance of the speakers. In the poster session, two outstanding posters were selected.
Prof. Zhao, the conference chairman, presided over the closing ceremony and award presentation ceremony. In the award ceremony, Prof. Ji, Chairman of the Program Committee, presented the award certificates to the winners.
This conference focuses on "Sensing, Measurement and Data Analysis in the Era of Artificial Intelligence", which builds a platform for experts and scholars in the field of thought collision and academic exchanges, and also provides different ideas for teachers and students of the college to solve the practical problems in their scientific research work. The papers of the conference were all searched by EI and included in IEEE Explore, and a special issue of the conference was launched jointly with three famous Chinese and English journals, namely, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (TIM), Computer Engineering, and China Journal of Inertial Technology, which has enhanced the reputation of the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology in the related fields. This has enhanced the visibility of the School of Mechatronics Engineering in related fields and expanded the influence of the discipline.
