Constructing the Visual Representational System of Attitude in Critical News Commentary

摘要:

批评性新闻评论是一类常见的新闻评论文体,其针对社会热议事件等发表的批评性立场时常对社会舆论产生较强的导向。Web 3.0时代移动互联网与社交媒体的普及促成了立场的视觉化表征,图片形式的批评性新闻评论日渐增多,随之也给新闻评论的创作与媒体舆情的应对带来一定的挑战。在多模态语料库驱动下,将显性和隐性表征情感、判断和鉴赏这三大类立场的视觉符号逐一进行详细的类型化与概念化,将立场与相应的视觉资源相匹配,从而构建立场的视觉表征系统。该系统可协助新闻评论创作者根据拟评论的对象、拟发表的平台、预期受众的特征等因素合理调用不同的视觉资源来科学创作多模态新闻评论,也为新媒体舆情应对过程中的立场识别提供语义辅助。

Abstract:

Being a typical type of news commentary, critical news commentary usually spreads a critical attitude toward hot issues and guides public opinions. On the one hand, visual critical news commentary becomes even more popular in the age of Web 3.0 and on the other hand, its fast development leads to a great challenge for editorial practice as well as the administration of public sentiment. Based on the multimodal corpus, this paper examines the visual representation of attitude by systematically categorizing and conceptualizing the visual resources of explicit and implicit emotion, judgment as well as appreciation, match attitudes with relevant resources, and accordingly constructs the visual representational system of attitude in critical news commentary. The system is beneficial both for the editorial practice and the governmental administration of such discourses through different visual resources covering the intended targets and platforms as well as the characteristics of expected audiences.
